Support London Irish Centre St Patrick's Appeal

It is becoming clear that the coronavirus pandemic poses most risk to the elderly and vulnerable.

Many of the people we support are older, socially isolated, and living with serious physical and mental health issues.

As the oldest community in London, with poorer health than the general population, and being more likely to live alone, our community is at risk like no other.

The very real threat of sickness, isolation, and closing services requires an urgent response.

We want to do everything we can to keep them safe and well through these uncertain times.

To focus all of our resources on this critical work, we have postponed all of our St Patrick's events for the foreeseable.

Responding to the advice of the government and health professionals, our teams are remodelling services to ensure that the most vulnerable remain safe and supported.

Phase 1 will include:

  1. A new telephone helpline for the old and vulnerable, providing frequent contact
  2. Twice-weekly deliveries of food, medication and other essentials by friendly faces
  3. Telephone health support by qualified practitioners, dealing with symptoms, medications, gentle exercise and nutrition
  4. Community food fridges for those that are hungry
  5. Extend our existing Befriending Service to providing emotional support and a friendly voice to people who are isolated

If you are in a position to support these services, please donate below.

If you are new to our work, here's our Impact Report for 2019

Ní neart go cur le chéile -- There is no strength without unity.

Thank you.
